About Us. We seek to know Jesus Christ and to make him known.

At Grace Communion Christian Fellowship in Hamden, CT (Grace Communion Hamden) our heartbeat is sharing the love of our Triune God. Our hope is that as many people as possible experience freedom and transformation of living in relationship with Father, Son, & Spirit.

The mission of Grace Communion Hamden is best stated in the words of the Apostle Paul to the Church at Ephesus …

“It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the Body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” (Ephesians 4:11-13) (NIV)

Who We Are

Grace Communion International is a mosaic of churches knit together in grace. Our goal is Spirit-led, life-giving relationships by which mature followers of Jesus are multiplied around the world.

We actively support both local and international missions. Please click "Read More" below to see which missions we support.

We Believe

We believe that theology should be rooted in the Bible. The theology we believe is often referred to as Trinitarian Theology due to its emphasis on the relational nature of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

If you want to improve your house a little, a local handyman will probably do. But if you want to be a home where every square inch is overflowing in delight and joy, well, you will need a craftsman for that. His name is Jesus and he always finishes what he starts.

Speaking Of Life 1051 | Souls Under Construction

Jeff Broadnax

Have you ever had your home remodeled? You excitedly start with a vision of what will be, but once construction begins, you wonder if you should have ever started. The project disrupts your normal routine, makes the house messy, and usually takes far longer than anticipated.

Sound familiar? Well, only if you have gone through a home remodeling project…or…if you have experienced being “remodeled” by Jesus, the master carpenter.

C.S. Lewis, in his book, Mere Christianity, describes Jesus’ remodeling like this:

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of – throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.”

This quote is a good reminder of what the Father is doing in Jesus by the Spirit in our lives. His remodeling project may not be easy in the present, but our hope in the finished work moves us forward in joy.

The prophet Isaiah directed the people of Israel with similar words written with a cosmic scope.

[LOOK DOWN]

“Pay close attention now: I’m creating new heavens and a new earth. All the earlier troubles, chaos, and pain are things of the past, to be forgotten. Look ahead with joy. Anticipate what I’m creating: I’ll create Jerusalem as sheer joy, create my people as pure delight. I’ll take joy in Jerusalem, take delight in my people: No more sounds of weeping in the city, no cries of anguish.” (Isaiah 65:17-19 MSG)

[LOOK UP]

If you want to improve your house a little, a local handyman will probably do. But if you want to be a home where every square inch is overflowing in delight and joy…well, you will need a craftsman for that. His name is Jesus and he always finishes what he starts. The project he starts will be a lot bigger than you can imagine. But it will be well worth it.

Entrance: Either through the double glass doors, found right between the two buildings (with steps), or behind the white building, on the right side of that building (no steps).

Guests are always welcome at Grace Communion Hamden! There is no dress code, so come dressed as you feel comfortable. We offer coffee and refreshments before and after service and look forward to connecting with you.

Grace Communion Hamden worship services are usually about 90 minutes long. We begin with a call to worship and singing. We project the lyrics so that you can sing along and/or engage in worship, however you feel comfortable. We then enter a time of prayer, scripture reading, and the sharing of an inspiring message about the hope of Jesus by one of our pastors or elders.

Each week we offer intercessory prayer time to pray for people in our church and community. Communion is offered the first and third Sundays of every month.
